Bistro Sakana

My absolute favourite sushi place.  Great service, unique menu items, very high quality food and presentation and a good selection of wines (when have you last said that about a sushi restaurant?!?) and a great selection of saki.  Owned by a husband and wife, he is local and she hails from Japan, where he spent 10 years before returning to Vancouver.  Great patio for people watching.  Always busy. Try the mango roll and/or the papaya roll.  Both are amazing and fresh tasting!  Not an inexpensive place, but the quality is excellent and the prices reflect that, while not going over the top.  If you only go to the discount/supermarket sushi places, try a real sushi restaurant and you will be surprised at the difference.
